New Katniss Everdeen And Effie Trinket ‘The Hunger Games’ Still From Empire Magazine

‘The Hunger Games’ is one of the feature stories for March 2012 issue of Empire magazine. Entitled “The Girl Who Played With Fire”, Empire magazine went on to list 5 reasons why ‘The Hunger Games’ is not another ‘Twilight’ film franchise even if it might look like it to some at first glance. To ‘The Hunger Games’ fans delight, it also included 2 new stills from ‘The Hunger Games’.

Here’s a new still featuring Elizabeth Banks as Effie Trinket touching her makeup with Woody Harrelson as Haymitch Abernathy drinking in the background.

In another new still, Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen is seen standing beside the fence that surrounded District 12.

You can view all of ‘The Hunger Games’ spread in March 2012 issue of Empire magazine below.

One of the covers for March 2012 issue of Empire magazine featuring Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man can be seen below.

Head over to Empire to check out the three other covers as reference in case you would like to buy this issue of Empire magazine. You should be able to find March 2012 issue of Empire magazine in all local major bookstores such as Books Kinokuniya, Times Bookstore etc.

‘The Hunger Games’ will be released in Singapore on 22 March 2012.

New Still Of Katniss, Peeta And Cinna In Chariot Outfits Before Parade

This got to be one of the huge surprise that we never see it coming. Entertainment Weekly has just released an exclusive still from the movie.

In this exclusive photo from the moments just before their introduction, Cinna (Lenny Kravitz) readies a final flaming flourish to Peeta and Katniss’s black costumes. “This is one of those moments where Cinna’s character syncs up with the creativity of our costume designer Judianna Makovsky,” says Ross. (Makovsky earned Oscar nominations for her work on Ross’ previous movies Pleasantville and Seabiscuit.) “What Cinna was trying to do was create something that came out of District 12, out of a coal mining world, with a fresh, bold look to it. So Judianna went to this wonderful black reflective material that glistened like coal or graphite and would obviously work well in the Tribute parade where Katniss becomes the Girl on Fire.”

I don’t know about you but I’m rather surprised they had released this still. I had assumed they will keep “The Girl Who Was On Fire” outfit a secret till the movie is released. Granted, they are not on fire but I’m loving how wicked cool the outfit looks before they are on fire. I supposed it wouldn’t be long before fans starts photoshopping them on fire using this still!

‘The Hunger Games’ will be released in Singapore on 22 March 2012.
