If you are wondering if ‘The Hunger Games’ will be screening in Golden Village cinemas, well, wonder no more! This ‘The Hunger Games’ poster which features Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen is framed in Golden Village’s “Coming Soon” inside Plaza Singapura.
‘The Hunger Games’ will be released in Singapore on 22 March 2012.
Lots of “The Hunger Games” trilogy related books have been scheduled to be released lately. This of course includes “The Hunger Games Collector’s Edition” which was released on 1st November 2011. However, it wasn’t spotted in local bookstores, at least not that Hunger Games Singapore is known of.
However, I went to Kinokuniya outlet in Ngee Ann City today, to my delight, around 40 copies or so of “The Hunger Games Collector’s Edition” were displayed on the shelf and it’s priced at S$44.99 each.
I did stay around at Kinokuniya at Ngee Ann City to observe the crowds and it appears that the board can be said to be effective in attracting people to pick up “The Hunger Games” novel to at least read the summary of the story on the back of the book. Quite a couple did put the novel into their cart and I hope they will enjoy the story as much as we did. Most of these people were parents who were shopping for books with their children who are tweens or teens. I had overheard a mother asking his 12 years oldish son if the novel would be too easy for him while flipping through it. In my opinion, I believe the content of the book touches on aspects that even adults will enjoy and perhaps take a little time to reflect on our current society.
Personally speaking, I would like to say that Lionsgate has done well in terms when designing that teaser poster. It didn’t deviate from the original novel cover, is striking and yet it’s able to appeal to unisex. Not to forget the meaning behind the Mockingjay pin and also it being on fire which is a cool and symbolic touch. By the way, I’m not saying that it’s a bad thing for the teaser poster to deviate from the cover of the novel. To me, it would simply be easier for a person to connect it to the books.
Currently, Hunger Games Singapore is not sure if other bookstores have starting selling “The Hunger Games Collector’s Edition” or if other bookstores besides Kinokuniya and Times have started promoting “The Hunger Games” too. Isabelle Fuhrman will be gracing the big screens in Singapore on March 23, 2012, as Clove in ‘The Hunger Games’. Before you get to see her as the District 2 Tribute, here’s a chance to see her acting chops in cinemas!
Golden Village is hosting a “Horrothon 2011 Edition – The kids are not quite right!” on 28 October 2011, Friday, at Golden Village Plaza Singapura.
The horrothon will kick off with the year 2009 movie, ‘Orphan’, which features Isabelle Fuhrman playing the 9 years old orphan named Esther who was adopted by a family. However, it appears that Esther is perhaps not as nice and innocent as she seemed to be…
The horrothon will then be followed by the ‘Insidious’ that was released last year and ending with 2011 thriller, ‘Dream House’.
This is a good chance if you like horror movies and would like to see Isabelle Fuhrman on the big screens before ‘The Hunger Games’.
