It’s time of the year again to look out for most anticipated movies in 2012. Collider had drawn up a list on 15 blockbusters which they are most looking forward in 2012. ‘The Hunger Games’ is one of the blockbusters that made the list.
Here’s what Collider has to say:
Director: Gary Ross
Cast: Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Stanley Tucci, Lenny Kravitz, and Donald Sutherland
Release Date: March 23rd, 2012
Why We’re Excited About It: If you’ve read the books, you know that Suzanne Collins’ Hunger Games universe is ripe for a feature film adaptation. It’s epic in scope, has multiple thrilling and unique action set-pieces, and centers on teenagers fighting each other to death with a hodgepodge of weapons/modes of murdering at their disposal. Judging from the full-length trailer, it looks like director Gary Ross has the tone down pat, but Lionsgate is keeping the second and third act close to the vest (ie. the killing, running, and fighting). Hopefully the film takes what made the books so damn addictive—intriguing characters and a twisty plot—and expands upon them, giving us an all-out dystopian adventure.

As 2011 draws to an end, for many media, it’s time to draw up a list for most anticipated movies in 2012. Contact Music has drawn out a list too where ‘The Hunger Games’ is placed on #4. Here’s what Contact Music has to say about ‘The Hunger Games’:
4. THE HUNGER GAMES (Mar)
The studio clearly hopes that this is the next big franchise. It’s a futuristic thriller based on a series of books about teens (casting gold Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson) who are forced to fight to the death in some sort of hyper-nasty reality game show. The books are reportedly amazing, which always helps.

Don’t forget to vote for ‘The Hunger Games’ over at Next Movie Most Anticipated Movie in 2012 poll!
The whole world will be watching “The Hunger Games” indeed! Hunger Games fans had voted vigorously during voting period and eventually beaten out other hot favorites such as ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1’, ‘The Dark Knight Rises’, ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’, ‘The Avengers’, ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey’ and ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’. Movies such as ‘Prometheus’, ‘Skyfall’ and ‘Dark Shadows’ were also in the running.
Here’s what MTV has to say:
In one of the bigger upsets of these end-of-year polls, Katniss KO’d Bella (Batman, Spider-Man and Snow White, too). Not bad work for a character who hasn’t even been seen on the big screen yet. The approaching year is easily the most exciting in recent memory; when “The Hobbit,” “The Amazing Spider-Man” and a new Bond film don’t even crack the top three you know 2012 is shaping up to be a cinematic year for the ages. What’s more, the “Hunger Games” win has got to come as welcome news to Lionsgate as the studio prepares to launch a new YA-adapted franchise the same year as the “Twilight Saga” finishes up its box-office run. — E.D.
We are sure Lionsgate will be delighted to hear there’s such a overwhelming support for ‘The Hunger Games’ even though this is the first movie yet to be released!
Don’t forget to vote for ‘The Hunger Games’ in Next Movie Most Anticipated Movie poll! The poll will close on December 26, 2011 at 11 p.m US time so ‘The Hunger Games’ still need your votes!
MTV has released their list of 12 most anticipated movies in 2012 and ‘The Hunger Games’ is one of the movies that made it onto the list.
“The Hunger Games”
The adaptation of the best-selling young adult book put together an impressive trailer that had even people who weren’t familiar with the story begging for more. In the movie, Jennifer Lawrence leads a great ensemble cast as Katniss, the girl picked to fight for her life in a sadistic fight to death with other teenagers.
