ABOUT THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire begins as Katniss Everdeen (played by Jennifer Lawrence) has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark (played by Josh Hutcherson).  Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts.  Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.  The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is directed by Francis Lawrence, and produced by Nina Jacobson’s Color Force in tandem with producer Jon Kilik. The novel on which the film is based is the second in a trilogy written by Suzanne Collins that has sold over 65 million copies in print in the U.S. alone.

NEW Catching Fire trailer debut at SDCC!

Image

Warning: the trailer really features tons of new stuff. Probably only several seconds where we see old footage. So if you would like to stay spoiler free until the movie, you might want to avoid this trailer. But i think that it is really awesome!

As mentioned before, Yahoo will be having the trailer that they are playing at San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) online shortly after.

You can view it at the Yahoo website, or on Youtube!

Personally, i loved this trailer. Probably because it does not really reveal much of movie, or the plot. There were certain things that i really, really wanted to see in the cinemas, and i wasn’t disappointed. If you have read the books, i think that this trailer really shows that it is close to the book. Or at least that is how i am interpreting it.

What do you think about the trailer? Leave us comments! 😀

Catching Fire panel live-blogs!

Image

Sadly, we were not able to go to San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) this year. However, there seems to be a few sources that seems to be live-blogging the panel! 😀 It will be from 4.35 to 5.35am (Singapore time) on Sunday early morning. (Original timing) [Note: I hope that i got the timing correctly. But please do double check the time difference and all!]

  1. Page To Premiere stated that the cast will only be doing the panel, and no press conferences or interviews. I guess they probably will want to keep the interviews for later since Catching Fire is coming soon! 😀 You can also keep a look out for this Twitter for tweets during the panel! 😀
  2. I think Hypable will have live-blogging! (Especially since they did cover a few panels today.) But i am unable to find any links so far. Will update this post when i find it! UPDATED! The live-blog will be here!
  3. Teen.com has said through their Twitter that they will do a live blog for the panel! [Added at 11pm on 20th.]
  4. The trailer will also be shown on Yahoo! Movies at 5.15am. I am guessing that it will be shown here! [Added at 11pm on 20th.]
  5. MTV will also have an interview with the cast at 6.30am! You can view the interview live at HERE! [Added at 11pm on 20th.]

That seems to be all so far. However, if you do have a source, please feel free to drop it in the comments below, tweet us, or tell us on Facebook!

Cinna’s feature on Capitol Couture!

Image

Recognised as the stylist that gives Katniss a memorable outfit and not just a face in the tributes, Cinna is finally featured on Capitol Couture

He made a name for himself after Katniss’ dress was well-received by the capitol citizens. So… Will he make another sensational dress for Catching Fire as well? (For those that have read the books, shhhhh. Keep it a secret! 😉 )

A little off topic, but please do stay hydrated! As the air quality in Singapore deteriorates, it is easier to fall sick. So please do try to take in more water and avoid staying outside for an extended period of time!

Mockingjay rumours!

Image

After the previous rumour of Mockingjay possibly starting filming in September, news of Mockingjay is starting to roll out recently.

Have you ever dreamt of wearing amazing runway outfits? Having your hair done in an abstract and unique way? Or perhaps wearing extremely detailed make up that you only see in the movies?

If the answer is yes to any of these, then we want to meet you. We have an upcoming feature that requires amazing faces and bodies, and we are looking for people that can bring unusual characters to life.

Last time for this ‘science fiction trilogy turned film series,’ we had you put yourself on tape but because this one is vastly important, we are requiring we meet each of you in person. If chosen, please know this will be a long shoot, requiring multiple days.

Due to the detailed nature of this film, we are casting this project in stages. This round we are ONLY requesting those to submit between the ages of 18-40. We are sorry, but no children and no one over 40 at this time! (Those submission dates will be released at a later time).

If you are interested in submitting for this project, please e-mail CLCEccentric@gmail.com. Please include 3 pictures (head and body), your age, height, weight, and all contact info. Please put your gender, ethnicity and age in the subject box.
Example: Male, Caucasian, 31

Please list your availability this week in the body of the e-mail.

Even though the name “Mockingjay” or Hunger Games is not used in the article, it does sound like Mockingjay indeed. From what is being said, could the casting be for the capitol citizens?

William Levy seems to be in talks to join Mockingjay Part One. However this has not been confirmed yet by either Lionsgate or the guy himself.

I certainly hope that we will have more news on the casting as the filming date draws near!
