Josh Hutcherson Speaks Hunger Games

Josh Hutcherson, who is playing Peeta Mellark in the Hunger Games and its sequels, spoke to Yahoo! Movies recently.

He opened up about his method of coping with the fame that playing the “boy with the bread” has brought him. He also mentioned that he was nervous about how being a part of this franchise was going to change his life.

Josh Hutcherson, also commonly known as J.Hutch, recalled an incident not too long ago where he found fans at his doorstep in Kentucky the day after Christmas. While he noted that there are some passionate fans of the trilogy, there are also some insane ones.  He admitted that the recent hike in the number of “likes” on his Facebook fanpage was after the release of “The Hunger Games”.

Without revealing more than he should, Hutcherson also mentioned that the bonus content in the Hunger Games DVD and Blu-ray was a personal look into the filming process of the movie and that he was excited that “Catching Fire” is to start filming in a few weeks’ time.

SEATTLE–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Aug. 17, 2012– (NASDAQ: AMZN)- Amazon.com, Inc. today announced that the Hunger Games trilogy has outsold the seven-book Harry Potter series, making Suzanne Collins’ three-part saga the best-selling book series of all time onAmazon.com, taking into consideration print and Kindle book sales combined. All of the books in the Hunger Games and Harry Potterseries are available for Kindle owners with a Prime membership to borrow for free in the Kindle Owners’ Lending Library.

“Since debuting in 2008, Katniss Everdeen and the Hunger Games have taken the world by storm, much as Harry Potter did a decade before,” said Sara Nelson, Editorial Director of Books and Kindle, Amazon.com. “Interestingly, this series is only three books versus Harry Potter’s seven, and to achieve this result in just four years is a great testament to both the popularity of the work and, we think, the growth in reading digitally during that time.
