Lionsgate Releases New Catching Fire Poster Via The Hunger Games Instagram
Lionsgate has been teasing us lately with new photos posted on The Hunger Games Instagram. Following the photo of the Catching Fire hardcover novel that was posted on Instagram, pages of Catching Fire novel were posted over the next few days.
The clues only started adding up when the highlighted line of the quote “The sun persists in rising, so I make myself stand.” was posted before 14th May (US time), the day which Lionsgate promised something big will happen on The Hunger Games Instagram.
On the midnight of 15th May 2013 (Singapore time), Lionsgate revealed a new ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ featuring Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) with the tagline “The sun persists in rising, so I make myself stand.”
This new ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ poster follows the same oil painting concept of Capitol Portraits. With Katniss Everdeen standing near the cliff and sun rising, it’s clear Katniss Everdeen be an important figure to Panem citizens in ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’.
Fans will no doubt be pleased that an actual line from the Catching Fire novel made it onto the poster, further proving that Lionsgate is planning to stay true to the Catching Fire novel as much as possible.

EW Reveals Five New Stills: Mrs Everdeen and Prim, Plutarch and Haymitch, President Snow, Katniss and Peeta, Gale
It has been a busy day for The Hunger Games fans and media alike. Following the reveal of the latest Entertainment Weekly issue with Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and Finnick Odair (Sam Claflin) on the cover and a “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” movie still where Finnick gets uncomfortably close to Katniss, we have not one, not two, but FIVE new stills for you to stare look at.
Below: Mrs. Everdeen (Paula Malcomson) and Primrose Everdeen (Willow Shields) in finer clothes compared to prior 74th Hunger Games
Below: Plutarch Heavensbee (Philip Seymour Hoffman) and Haymitch Abernathy (Woody Harrelson) in presumably a Capitol Feast
Below: President Coriolanus Snow (Donald Sutherland) all dressed up presumably Capitol Feast in his mansion
Below: Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) on stage presumably for one of the 74th Hunger Games Victory Tour speeches
”These are kids growing up in war who physically, emotionally can’t love somebody,” says Jennifer Lawrence about the uncomfortable triangle between District 12′s battle-weary Katniss, Peeta, and her childhood friend Gale that began in The Hunger Games. ”Katniss thinks she can’t have a crush on a boy because she’s worried about survival every single day. And she can’t be a normal 16-year-old meeting her friend out in the woods and practicing kissing because that’s not the world that they live in.”
Below: Gale Hawthorne (Liam Hemsworth) manhandled by Peacekeepers
”Jen and Liam have amazing chemistry,” says director Francis Lawrence of his young stars. ”They have a nice moment right before Katniss is reaped that is the very first thing we shot. And then when Gale has been brought in from the whipping, that’s another really nice moment they have alone.” ”This is the book where you have to understand the pull Katniss feels to both Peeta and Gale,” say producer Nina Jacobson.
What do you think of the five new stills?

Video: Woody Harrelson on Haymitch’s development in Catching Fire
Woody Harrelson.
Like Jennifer Lawrence, Woody Harrelson has also went to Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). When promoting Seven Psychopath, Josh Horowitz from MTV News’ had the opportunity to interview him. (See the video HERE!)
The below is an abstract of what Woody Harrelson has said about Catching Fire. (Not much spoilers!
)
“I think that it’s a really good script, a really strong script, so I feel good about that,” he said. “That’s the big question mark, since there was so little time to get that script together.”
As for his preparation process, Harrelson said he took an even deeper dive into Haymitch’s fragile, post-Games psyche.
“Francis had asked me if I had studied PTSD — post-traumatic stress disorder — and I actually did in college. I was a psychology minor. So I met a guy who has PTSD in Maui,” Harrelson said. “You know, I like the way Francis is very thorough, very on top of everything. I really feel great. I loved Gary. I thought Gary did an incredible job with the first one, but I do think Francis is going to do great with this.”
If Harrelson had one (albeit small) complaint about the first installment, it was that Ross didn’t allow him to go the full Haymitch — literally falling-down drunk. He hopes to remedy that in the sequel.
“I talked with Francis about that,” Harrelson said with a chuckle. “I’m going to try to go as far as possible. You know me. I’ll try to take it over the top.”
Well well! That does seems like a lot of development!
Personally, I wonder if we will see more of Haymitch’s history.
The Hunger Games, rated PG13, was released on 22 March 2012 and DVD and Blu-Ray are now available. “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” is scheduled for release on 22 November 2013 in USA.
