HUNT VALLEY, MD, May 17, 2013 — Today, COVERGIRL announced its first-ever major movie sponsorship of Lionsgate’s highly anticipated The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, scheduled for release in North American theaters onNovember 22, 2013. Budding Writers League Sci-Fi/Fantasy Chapter

Calling budding writers and fans of Science Fiction and Fantasy! If you are a fan of writers such as Neil Gaiman, Jim Butcher, Time Powers, and Simon R. Green, then this 4-part workshop is for you.

Participants will learn the art of writing urban fantasy stories. Topics covered are:
-       Building your protagonist/antagonist
-       Defining your environment
-       Creating the perfect plot
-       Identifying the fantasy tropes
-       What you need to know about publishing

Organized by Eugene Tay from Monsters Under the Bed. Main trainer will be Adan Jimenez (co-author of Sherlock Sam series).

We would advise you to read The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins first before continuing on sequel Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins for better grasp on the story for there are additional characters and plots not introduced in The Hunger Games movie.

Lionsgate Releases New Catching Fire Poster Via The Hunger Games Instagram

Lionsgate has been teasing us lately with new photos posted on The Hunger Games Instagram. Following the photo of the Catching Fire hardcover novel that was posted on Instagram, pages of Catching Fire novel were posted over the next few days.

The clues only started adding up when the highlighted line of the quote “The sun persists in rising, so I make myself stand.” was posted before 14th May (US time), the day which Lionsgate promised something big will happen on The Hunger Games Instagram.

On the midnight of 15th May 2013 (Singapore time), Lionsgate revealed a new ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ featuring Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) with the tagline “The sun persists in rising, so I make myself stand.”

This new ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ poster follows the same oil painting concept of Capitol Portraits. With Katniss Everdeen standing near the cliff and sun rising, it’s clear Katniss Everdeen be an important figure to Panem citizens in ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’.

Fans will no doubt be pleased that an actual line from the Catching Fire novel made it onto the poster, further proving that Lionsgate is planning to stay true to the Catching Fire novel as much as possible.

RUMOUR: Mockingjay Part 1 to start filming in September?

As we finally get a confirmation on when we will see the first trailer for Catching Fire, news seems to be rolling out recently.

A tweet states that Mockingjay Part 1 could be starting on production on September 16th in Atlanta and Boston. Mockingjay Part 1 is stated to be released on November 21st 2014, which means that there is about a year for them to film and prepare should they really start filming in September.

However, do note that there has been no confirmation from Lionsgate so far!

And ps: there is only 6 more days till the release of the teaser trailer of Catching Fire!

Rumours have been swirling around the actual date for the première of “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” teaser trailer. Many fans speculated it could happen during 2013 MTV Movie Awards and they were right!

Lionsgate announced Liam Hemsworth (Gale Hawthorne in “The Hunger Games” franchise) will introduce 2 and 1/2 minutes of footage during 2013 MTV Movie Awards on 15 April 2013 (Monday) at 9am SGT.

SANTA MONICA, CA (April 3, 2013) – MTV announced today that the “2013 MTV Movie Awards” will exclusively debut the never-before-seen official teaser trailer for the long awaited second installment of Lionsgate’s Hunger Games film franchise, “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,” LIVE on Sunday, April 14 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. To celebrate the premiere, the film’s star Liam Hemsworth will officially give the world its first glimpse of the film. The teaser trailer will then be available online at TheHungerGamesExplorer.com, in partnership with Internet Explorer, after it airs on television.

The “2013 MTV Movie Awards” will air across MTV’s global network of more than 60 channels reaching more than a half-billion households around the world. The debut marks the first footage released of “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” ahead of its November 22, 2013 theatrical release date.

“The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” begins as Katniss Everdeen (played by Jennifer Lawrence) has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark (played by Josh Hutcherson).   Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts.  Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75^th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.  “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” is directed by Francis Lawrence, and produced by Nina Jacobson’s Color Force in tandem with producer Jon Kilik. The novel on which the film is based is the second in a trilogy that has over 50 million copies in print in the U.S. alone.   Lionsgate will release “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” on November 22, 2013.

The “2013 MTV Movie Awards” will serve as the official kick off to the Summer Blockbuster season with rising superstar and host Rebel Wilson set to go off and deliver the show’s trademark irreverent celebration of the movies, actors and music that audiences love LIVE on Sunday, April 14 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. Wait no more Tributes! We have managed to get in contact with Cathay-Keris Films, the local film distributor for ‘The Hunger Games’ film franchise and we have a tentative release date for ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’.

PANEM ALERT: President Coriolanus Snow is pleased to announce this year’s Victory Tour, featuring Katniss Everdeen & Peeta Mellark – Victors of the 74th Hunger Games! The Capitol PN demands that all districts prepare accordingly. Inquire with your local district officials for further instructions.

Interesting isn’t it? Well. I am certainly glad to see promotions to start so soon on Catching Fire! Below are a few points i have noted from the posters. (Which is absolutely my own, and do not represent the site as a whole.) MIGHT be spoiler-ish.

• The white roses in my memory seems to be connected to a certain person in the series. Wonder if that would be why it is placed there?
• Judging from the photos that we have seen of the set, it certainly doesn’t seem like this set of clothes that Katniss was wearing.
• Would this also mean that they are going to rope in the individual district mayor, Facebook, Twitter?
