Work to start on Mockingjay Part 2 script with Part 1 done

Even though Catching Fire is still not done with the filming, Mockingjay Part 1 script is already done. Work is now beginning on Mockingjay Part 2 script.

From The Hollywood Reporter:

Strong already had written the script for Mockingjay, Part 1 and had a deal to write the script for the second part. But it was always contingent on the studio liking and approving his draft for Part 1.

Now it’s all systems go for him to commence the new script.

Lionsgate is dividing the book into two parts, a la the finales for the Harry Potter and Twilight series

It’s unclear how the book is being split. The story kicks off after heroine Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) escapes the fight-to-the-death Hunger Games and reluctantly agrees to lead the districts of Panem in a rebellion against the Capitol. She teams with close friend Gale (Liam Hemsworth) to bring down the brutal rulers.

Francis Lawrence, who is shooting first sequel The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, is expected to direct the movie while Nina Jacobson produces via her Color Force banner.

Wonder if they will make changes to Mockingjay Part One after the script for Part two is done… I have always thought that the script will be written as a whole, and the point to cut it will be decided later. Guess not!

Josh Hutcherson Speaks Hunger Games

Josh Hutcherson, who is playing Peeta Mellark in the Hunger Games and its sequels, spoke to Yahoo! Movies recently.

He opened up about his method of coping with the fame that playing the “boy with the bread” has brought him. He also mentioned that he was nervous about how being a part of this franchise was going to change his life.

Josh Hutcherson, also commonly known as J.Hutch, recalled an incident not too long ago where he found fans at his doorstep in Kentucky the day after Christmas. While he noted that there are some passionate fans of the trilogy, there are also some insane ones.  He admitted that the recent hike in the number of “likes” on his Facebook fanpage was after the release of “The Hunger Games”.

Without revealing more than he should, Hutcherson also mentioned that the bonus content in the Hunger Games DVD and Blu-ray was a personal look into the filming process of the movie and that he was excited that “Catching Fire” is to start filming in a few weeks’ time.

‘The Hunger Games’, rated PG13, was released on 22 March 2012 and DVD and Blu-Ray are now available for purchase at stores island-wide. ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ is scheduled for release on 22 November 2013 in USA.

Catch ‘Orphan’ In Cinemas During Golden Village Horrothon 2011 Edition

Isabelle Fuhrman will be gracing the big screens in Singapore on March 23, 2012, as Clove in ‘The Hunger Games’. Before you get to see her as the District 2 Tribute, here’s a chance to see her acting chops in cinemas!

Golden Village is hosting a “Horrothon 2011 Edition – The kids are not quite right!” on 28 October 2011, Friday, at Golden Village Plaza Singapura.

The horrothon will kick off with the year 2009 movie, ‘Orphan’, which features Isabelle Fuhrman playing the 9 years old orphan named Esther who was adopted by a family. However, it appears that Esther is perhaps not as nice and innocent as she seemed to be…

The horrothon will then be followed by the ‘Insidious’ that was released last year and ending with 2011 thriller, ‘Dream House’.

This is a good chance if you like horror movies and would like to see Isabelle Fuhrman on the big screens before ‘The Hunger Games’.

The Hunger Games Wrapped In North Carolina

During the days when “The Hunger Games” was filming in North Carolina, Russ Bowen, an anchor for 10pm news on MY40 and reporter for News13 at 11 in Asheville, kept Hunger Games fans updated with the filming process through his Twitter account with occasional pictures. Though none of the updates are spoilery and some might even say vague, Hunger Games fans do take comfort in the fact that we do at least know what scenes are being filmed and where it’s being filmed on that day. These little updates let Hunger Games fans know the filming process is moving on and is something we can chew on while we impatiently wait for “The Hunger Games” to arrive in theatres and cinemas alike here in Singapore on March 23, 2012.

Four days ago, we reported that Elizabeth Banks, who is playing Effie Trinket has finished filming for “The Hunger Games”. Today, Russ Bowen tweeted that “The Hunger Games” has wrapped in North Caorlina!

The Hunger Games Wraps In North Carolina

After tweeting that, Russ Bowen tweeted a series of tweets regarding the filming and cast of “The Hunger Games” movie. Check it out after the jump!

We would like to thank Russ Bowen for updating us constantly throughout the whole filming process and we certainly hope this will not be the last time we hear from him!

Update: The folks over at Mockingjay.net has gotten a confirmation from Lionsgate that “The Hunger Games” has indeed wrapped on September 10th!

Down With The Hate: The Hunger Games Examiner adresses YA Fandoms.

Photo Credit: The Hunger Games Examiner Tumblr Site

Yesterday, The Hunger Games Examiner (Sara Gundell) posted up a letter on her site concerning hate between many of the YA Fandoms.

Dear fans of all the fandoms, this is an open letter asking you to please stop the hate. You may only be a fan of select fandoms — maybe only one fandom — but as a Fan (with a capital “F”) it’s important to remember, that when you get to the heart of it, we all share the same type of feelings towards these different subjects.

Over the last few years, I’ve witnessed different bouts of hatred between or towards certain fandoms. They flare up more potently from time to time, and for whatever reason, we seem to be experiencing another flare up right now.
